Civil Demand Unit

Over the last decade, many states have enacted a "Civil Demand Law" that assists retailers in battling losses due to shoplifting. This law allows retailers an opportunity to recoup money from shoplifters ranging from $75 through $1,500 plus the return of the product. ISP has established a team of experts in both "Civil Demand" and shoplifting prevention/apprehension.

We have retained experts from the retail industry with careers spanning over 25 years in shoplifting prevention and apprehension. This division will visit your unit(s) regularly and make apprehensions. The "Civil Demand Law" will be explained to the individuals apprehended and enforced. This law does not replace any court proceeding that may result from the apprehension.

Shoplifting Seminars & Programs

Our seminars and programs can be tailored for specific regions, divisions or individual units. All programs are geared towards "prevention through teamwork".

Our professionals will present precise techniques and programs geared towards shoplifting prevention, for all management and associates. Once your associates participate in these seminars, they will become "pro-active" to shoplifting, rather than re-active. Eliminating false arrests and litigation is our goal.

Civil Demand Programs

Next to prevention, the second greatest tool for the retailer to deter shoplifting is the Civil Demand Act. This law simply allows the retailer to recoup money from apprehended shoplifters.

Our team of professional detectives will train your associates in preventative measures to be taken at store level. We also offer plainclothes experts who will patrol your establishments, make apprehensions and civil demands on your behalf. We can also generate any paperwork pertaining to civil demand recoveries based upon your own internal apprehensions and reports.
